Historical perspective:-
Current Deesa town is just 180 years old. It was established as military cantonment by the East India Company to link northern cantonments of Delhi. Merrut and Agra to the western cantonment of Pune on the way from Abu (Rajasthan to Ahmedabad, Gujarat). For this, there had been one legal agreement for lease of land between East India Company and the then Nawab of the Palanpur state in the year 1822-23 for the next hundred years. As the Deesa cantonment was established. Some of the merchants who used to travel via this route decided to live by the side of cantonment area for their business and livelihood. After that many other merchants and villagers settled near the cantonment. They bought their own lands and thus the current township took place.
More interestingle, since its birth, Deesa used to be a real symbol of communal harmony. In the cantonment there was specitic arrangements ofr the soldiers of Hindu, Muslim and Christian soldiers. One small temple of 'lord Shiva' named as 'Rishal-Temple', one exclusive mosque named 'Risala-Mosque' and one Church of Mother Merry were built. All the three communities were quite friendly and they honoured the religious value of each others.
In 1950 on India becoming republic, on the basis of riverbank of River Banas, a district named Banaskantha was formed. Deesa Taluka was formed and Deesa town thus was put under the state of Gujarat. As such district is being considered as the most backward district of Gujarat for the reason that most of its population is tribal. the district consists of 13 Talukas. But Deesa Town is recognised as one of the most growing and important town of the entire District. It is now quipped with all civic amenities like public and private hospitals, public and private schools, telephone exchange, sub power station, Raiway station, Bus Depot, Police stations, Shopping complexes, lodges and Dharamshalas, Cinema theatre, Roads and Highway, Cold storages, Court, Post office, Co-operative bandks, market yards etc.
Deesa town has privilege of the visits of great personalities like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Atalbihari Vajpayee and Sonia Gandhi on different occasions.
Mr. Manishankar and Mr. Gopalbhai who used to teach the students, initiated the pocess of establishing a school and thus in 1853, the first school began. In 1922-23 the lease period ended and in honour of the then Governor Sir Charles Watson, the then Nawab of the state of Palanpur 'Sir Taley Mohhamad Khan' named the school as Sir Charles Watson School.

Important Events:-
- 1853 A.D. Establishment of the school, Management by private Trust.
- 10th February 1857 Handing over to the British Government. Named as 'Government Anglo-Vernacular School, Camp Deesa'. First headmaster was Mr. Karshandas Mulji, the then most famous Social icon who was a firm follower of truth and other values. He served the school for his entire life.
- 1896-1928 Because of the severe funds problims, the school was handed over to the cantonment. Named as 'Cantonment A.V.School,Deesa Camp'. Several great personalities like Mr. Dhanjibhai, Mr. I.B.Parekh, Mr. Bhagwanlal Badshah, Mr. Mahadevia, Mr. Chunnilal Desai, Mr. Bhojaji Daiya and Mr. Bhogilal Patel gave therir selfless services to the school for the next 75 years.
- 15th March 1928 The school was handed over to the then Palanpur state to be managed by Deesa Municipality. first Headmaster was Mr. Bhogibhai Patel. Although he was only marticulate, he guided students through his commitment, knowledge, discipline, devotion and management skills. Many of his students became great leaders in their respective fields.
- 1928-1936 Under the able guidance of the next headmaster Mr. Jagjivandas Vyas (ex-head master of 'alfred high School, Rajkot', one of the most famous School of the nation), school found a turning point in its history.
- 1936-1951 School gradually grew up to matriculation.
- 1951 First time students appeared in the board examinations of S.S.C. and got the satisfactory results.
- 1953 School grew as 376 students.
- 1953-1964 School grew in curricular performance of the students.
- 1965-1982 Under the headmastership of Mr. Shantilal Panchal, school grew in extra-curricular activities in the school. He started the tradition of 'Youth Festivals' in the school and slowly it became an annual feature. Several competitions like Debates, Declamation, Essay-writing, Play contest, Music contest, Folk Dance, Drawing contests and various sport meets were organized during these festivals. Even the science Faculty with the 10+2 system of ducation was started in his tenure in the academinc session 1976-77. The conrtibutions of Mr. Panchal are unforgettable for the generations. Several of his students are serving as prominent and renowned doctors today.
